Scottish Days/Highland Games 2013
[en]The 4th Scottish Days/Highland Games of the Friends of Clan MacLaren will start on 13. and 14. July 2013. The games are co-organisized with the CVJM-Westbund which will be available and provides terrain and catering. We would like to thank for the great support in advance.[/en]
[de]Am 13. und 14. Juli 2013 finden zum vierten Mal die Scottish Days/Highland Games der Friends of Clan MacLaren in Wuppertal statt. Mitveranstalter ist der CVJM-Westbund, der sein Gelände zur Verfügung stellt und für die Verpflegung sorgt. Wir möchten uns für die große Unterstützung im Voraus bedanken.[/de]
[en]There are traditional competitions such as caber toss, tug of war, and so on. Totally there are 11 disciplines with two separate votes for amateurs and semi-professionals. If you would like to participate with a team on real Scottish Highland Games, please contact us.
The program includes plenty of pipe music, Celtic Dance & Riverdance from the group Celtic Dance Company from Wuppertal. Child care is offered by various Wuppertal CVJM groups. Many traders are back on site – including a scottish knife maker, a Whisky-dealer, a blacksmith, and many other distributors from Germany and from the Great Britain.[/en]
[de]Es werden traditionelle Wettbewerbe durchgeführt wie z.B. Baumstammwerfen, Tauziehen u.v.m. Insgesamt wird es 11 Wettkampfdisziplinen mit zwei separaten Wertungen für Amateure und Halb-Profis geben. Wenn auch Sie mit einem Team an echten schottischen Highland Games teilnehmen möchten, kontaktieren Sie uns.
Zum Programm gehören reichlich Pipe-Musik, Celtic Dance & Riverdance von der Gruppe Celtic Dance Company aus Wuppertal. Eine Kinderbetreuung wird durch verschiedene Wuppertaler CVJM Gruppen geboten. Zahlreiche Händler schlagen wieder ihre Zelte auf – u.a. ein schottischer Messermacher, ein Whiskystand, ein Schmied und viele weitere Händler aus Deutschland und von der Insel.[/de]
[en]Saturday is provided as a training day. On this day, we give you a presentation and introducing in the disciplines. Also starts at 7:30 pm clock live music from the rockabilly band „Racker Jax“ and later from the Irish folk band „Fragile Matt“; Traditionally, sensitive, cheerful, lively and is best live provides the band vocal harmonies surrounded by funky Irish and Scottish tunes.[/en]
[de]Der Samstag ist als Trainingstag vorgesehen an dem auch Vorführungen der einzelnen Disziplinen geplant sind. Ausserdem gibt es ab 19.30 Uhr Live-Musik von „Racker Max“ einer Rockabilly-Band und von der Irish Folk Band “Fragile Matt”; Traditionell, gefühlvoll, fröhlich, lebendig und am besten live, bietet die Band mehrstimmigen Gesang umrahmt von fetzigen irischen und schottischen Tunes.[/de]
[en]The Sunday begins with a church service at 10.30 am. The competition area will open at 11:30 am and the entry of all participants beginning at 12:00 clock. A Pipe Band will play from the region and there will be Scottish, Irish and Celtic dances presented. At 12:30 pm the competitions starting. As culinary delights there are barbecued suckling pig.[/en]
[de]Der Sonntag beginnt mit einem Gottesdienst um 10.30 Uhr. Der Einlass auf dem Wettkampfplatz ist um 11.30 Uhr und der Einmarsch aller Teilnehmer erfolgt um 12.00 Uhr. Eine Pipeband aus der Region spielt auf, Tanzeinlagen schottischer, irischer und keltischer Natur werden auch nicht fehlen. Um 12:30 Uhr beginnen dann die eigentlichen Highland Games mit den einzelnen Disziplinen. Als kulinarischen Gaumenschmaus gibt es Spanferkel vom Holzkohlengrill.[/de]
